A BEAUTY pageant contestant is calling on people from Portsmouth to vote for her.

Grace White, 16 from Cosham, is taking part in Teen Queen UK, the UK’s first teen beauty pageant.

Grace was picked to compete when she went to The Clothes Show, Birmingham, in December with her school, Springfield in Drayton.

She then got invited to a studio in London to have her photo taken with 100 other girls. Here, she got picked to go through to the second heat but, her chances of getting in the final depend on votes from the public.

Mark White, her father, said: ‘We want people from the area to vote for Grace who has worked hard to get to the second heat. She can’t use Facebook to get votes so she is relying on people to text in.’ Votes cost 75p plus the standard network rate, with the money going to charity.

Teen Queen UK said: ‘It’s important that the girls know the importance of fund raising and supporting charities. The money we raise goes to the Mad Foundation.’
