A CHARITY pantomime has been hailed a huge success.

Alice in Pantoland was performed at St George’s Church, in Waterlooville, by the St George’s Players.

The show was written for the church 25 years ago and was set in the town.

Jane Rice-Oxley, from the church, said: ‘As it was a very traditional performance not a great deal needed changing.

‘But there were a few allusions to shops that had departed which had to be changed and a few names altered of people who had gone one way or another.’

The performances raised £268 and the money will be split between church maintenance and first prize for the church summer fete raffle in June, which kicks off the annual Waterlooville Music Festival.
