WORK is now under way to improve a shopping parade.
Around £350,000 has been set aside to revamp Hambledon Parade in Waterlooville where businesses have been asking for years for better parking and traffic flow in an area that can become congested.
The carriageway will be widened to allow better two-way traffic flow within the parade and there will be new paving and street furniture will also be installed together with an improved footway and cycleway route.
A spokeswoman for Havant Borough Council, which has commissioned the work being carried out by Rocon, said small areas will be worked on at a time to minimise disruption to local businesses and customers.
It is expected to take up to four months.
The work has been funded by developers contributions to the West of Waterlooville development of 3,000 homes.
