PARALYMPIAN star Dame Sarah Storey officially opened a new sports store in Gunwharf Quays.

The 11-time gold medallist cyclist and former swimmer opened the Pearl Izumi store, which sells cycling and running gear.

She said: ‘It’s an honour to be able to come and share the brand with Portsmouth.

‘It’s great to be sponsored by such an incredible brand and it’s nice to be a part of something that is growing in the UK.’

People were able to meet Dame Sarah and there were giveaways of water bottles and caps, as well as promotions and discounts on goods.

Store manager Lee Page said: ‘It’s great to have an athlete of Dame Sarah Storey’s calibre officially open the store.’
