IT was a day of patriotism, fun and community spirit – and even the weather helped royal wedding street parties go with a swing.

The sun shone (sometimes) and although temperatures didn’t quite reach the sweltering heights of the previous weekend, it was still perfect conditions for a neighbourly knees-up.

Across our area, people spilled out onto the streets after watching Prince William and Kate Middleton take their marriage vows.

And on a day that seemed to bring the whole nation together, thousands of you got out and partied with the neighbours.
