THE founder of a rescue centre says the number of unwanted animals is spiralling out of control.

In just three days, 67 cats, kittens and rabbits were given to the Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre, in Sidlesham, near Chichester.

They come from across West Sussex and the Portsmouth area.

Today the centre, in Church Lane, is holding a rehoming day from midday to 2pm. They will be held at the same time on the fourth Saturday of every month.

Founder Monique Turk said: ‘We are struggling. We are also in urgent need of long cut shredded paper and tinned cat food. Call 01243 641409 after 4pm.’
