A compANY has found a colourful way of digging in to help a charity.

Cosham Plant Hire has bought a pink digger in the hope of raising £100,000 for Breast Cancer Care.

Managing director Louis Silk had been looking for a way to raise money and awareness for the charity, and was inspired when he spotted a pink lorry driving around London.

He said: ‘I work in a very male-dominated industry and wanted a way to reach out to men about the dangers of breast cancer, and what they can do to help.’

The family firm will hire out the pink digger over the next four years and then sell it, donating all proceeds to Breast Cancer Care UK. Alongside raising money it will also create information packs to increase awareness and understanding of the disease.
