SOAP stars went head-to-head against a team of Pompey football legends during a charity competition in Havant yesterday.

Hundreds of people went to the Havant and Waterlooville Football Club in Martin Road, to watch the Superstar Sunday Celebrity Funday match.

Set up by Michael Briscoe, 24, of Cosham, it pitted the likes of Casualty star Andrew Knott and Waterloo Road’s Reece Douglas against former Portsmouth FC players and The Only Way is Essex star Tom Kilbey.

The day was raising cash for Once Upon A Smile – a charity which supports parents and children after the death of a loved one.

Mr Briscoe hoped to generate £4,000 for the cause. He said: ‘It’s taken a year of hard work to get this all together.’

The day was in memory of Pompey fan Elliot Smith, 19, of Cosham, who died after losing his battle against cancer in May.
