MAJOR work is under way to replace pontoons in a marina.

It is set to take between three and four months to replace the pontoons at Thornham Marina, Emsworth, in Chichester Harbour.

Marina manager, Jeanette Critchell, said: ‘This is the icing on the cake in regard to projects.

‘With the new luxurious shower block complete and the new Multihull World Brokerage office nearing completion, the replacement of the pontoons will be the culmination of a two year refurbishment programme.

‘The old pontoons, although still serviceable, are looking a bit tatty and in need of some TLC.’

The fairways will have ample turning room and there will be plenty of space on each of the finger pontoons.

Each will have their own electrical point. Water stations will be available on the pontoons and there will be life buoy stations and emergency boxes on each walkway.
