IT’S a painting she has travelled the length and breadth of the country with.

But, after 35 years, artist Patricia Parsons is turning Sherlock Holmes and is determined to find the mystery girl in her painting.

The portrait was painted in October 1980 when Mrs Parsons, then called Mrs Moore, had returned from France and was staying at Silver Sands Holiday Camp on Hayling Island.

She painted a picture of a local girl who lived nearby and the painting was displayed in a local hardware shop in the hope of getting more commissions for Mrs Parsons.

After a few months, Mrs Parsons moved away, but has never forgotten about the painting.

Now 81 and living in Portchester, the former theatre actress, said: ‘It would be quite nice to find that little girl and give it to her.’
