REAL ales and live music went down a treat on the first day of Portsmouth Beer Festival.
The event made its big return yesterday following a three-year hiatus at the University of Portsmouth Students’ Union.
Martyn Constable, of the local branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, which is holding the event, said drinkers were impressed with the range of beers on offer.
‘People have said the beers are in a great condition and that there is a good range,’ he said.
Tickets are still available for today’s afternoon session from 11.30am to 4.30pm and evening session from 6pm to 11pm.
