ONE of opera’s great romances will be shown on Portsmouth’s big screen.

The Royal Opera is showing a live performance of Puccini’s La Bohème for free in Guildhall Square.

Audiences will be treated to a star-studded cast including Anna Netrebko and Joseph Calleja as Mimì and Rodolfo, the ill-fated lovers.

There have been more than 500 performances on the iconic Covent Garden Stage and the live screening is an opportunity to see the production elsewhere.

There will also be screenings at Port Solent’s Odeon cinema and Gunwharf Quays’ Vue cinema.

The performance take place on Wednesday, June 10, at 7.15pm.
