PUB customers will be treated to a beer and music festival in Gosport at the end of next month.

A total of 16 brews from Oakleaf and Brewing Company will be on sale to locals at The Clarence Tavern between August 31 and September 3.

More than 40 local bands supplied by Quay West Studios Ltd, in Quay Lane, Gosport, will perform on two stages inside the pub on the first two days.

The beer festival kicks off at midday on the Friday and bands will begin performing at 4.30pm.

The pub’s last beer and music festival was held during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at the beginning of June.

Landlord Patrick Noonan, who has run The Clarence Tavern with his partner Teresa Kirby for the past 14 years, said: ‘We want this to be a regular thing now.

‘It’s all about bringing the Gosport community together and everyone having a great time.

‘It gives young musicians the chance to play their first ever gig.

‘We’re passionate about the local music scene and we want to see it grow.’

Entry is free. For more information call the pub on (023) 9252 9726.
