A RADIO station is appealing for toys in a bid to help children who wouldn’t otherwise receive a Christmas gift.

Wave 105 has launched its Cash for Kids toy appeal for the fourth year and will be collecting toys until Friday, December 14.

Wave 105 broadcasts across the south from its base in Segensworth, Fareham.

Cash for Kids charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: ‘Last year’s appeal collected 5,000 toys worth nearly £109,000, and we hope to exceed that figure this year.

‘We require new toys that are unwrapped, all of which will go to disadvantaged children in the region.’

Toys can be donated at Sainsbury’s supermarkets at Broadcut in Fareham, Commercial Road in Portsmouth and Farlington and at Snows’ Seat dealerships in Portsmouth.

Wave 105 will be broadcasting live from Farlington Sainsbury’s on Wednesday, December 5 from 1pm until 4pm and Thursday, December 6 from 9am to 1pm.
