A WOMAN who has spent decades raising money for the RNLI is set to receive a top award.
Jenny Robinson, 62, is heading to London in May for the RNLI’s annual awards ceremony where she will be given a gold award for ‘loyalty and long service’.
Over the years the retired teacher has helped raise hundreds of thousands pounds.
Mrs Robinson, of Nashe Way, Fareham, said: ‘I was about eight or nine when I started helping my mum with her street collections. I would give out the stickers and the pins.
‘I’m tickled to get this award – it’s a terrific honour. I’m absolutely delighted because I know it’s not given out lightly. It shows they’ve recognised the amount of time and effort you’ve put in.’
