GENEROUS bus passengers raised hundreds of pounds.

The Stagecoach Santa Bus was in operation over the festive period and raised £800 to be shared between The Rowans Hospice and the Roberts Children’s Centre.

Matt Cooper, assistant operations manager for Stagecoach in Portsmouth, said the traditionally-decorated Santa Bus, complete with illuminated red-nosed reindeers, festive music and gifts for children and driven by Santa, proved popular with customers both young and old.

He said: ‘We’re delighted to be able to present the cheques to help fund the important work and care offered by The Rowans and the Roberts Centre on behalf of everyone who made a donation and the team of drivers and engineers from our depot who made the Santa bus so special.’
