MOD Martin Reeves has travelled the length of the country on his beloved scooter for charity.

Mr Reeves, a train maintenance worker from Havant, wanted to raise money for Breast Cancer Care and the British Heart Foundation.

He was seen off from Havant train station by fellow scooter fanatics and Quadrophenia star Gary Shail – a friend of a friend.

The journey from Havant to Edinburgh took two days and Mr Reeves’ girlfriend Michelle Misselbrook flew to Edinburgh to ride pillion home with him.

They went straight to the Isle of Wight International Scooter Rally when they arrived back on Friday afternoon.

Mr Reeves, 44, said: ‘I didn’t feel uncomfortable on the bike, I just got a bit tired on the way back, near Birmingham.

‘I think when I got off even the bike coughed. I’m so grateful to everyone who sponsored me, particularly Phoenix Boxing Club. Hopefully I’ve raised at least £1,500.’
