IT’S the perfect day for Daisy-Mae Armstrong as she celebrates her 11th birthday – on the 11th month of the 11th year.
The excited youngster from Silkstead Avenue, Leigh Park, is to mark the once-in-a-lifetime occasion with a sleepover party with her friends this evening.
Decked in poppies to also mark Remembrance Day, Daisy-Mae was treated to a new coat and bag, Cher Lloyd’s album and some make-up.
She said: ‘It’s much more exciting that a unusual birthday because I will never get one like this again.
‘I feel really lucky. Some people never get a birthday like this and that makes it even more special.’
Mum Katrina, 37, surprised the birthday girl when she took her to see Jessie J in Bournemouth last week.
Katrina said: ‘Daisy-Mae loved it.
‘She was screaming when she opened the tickets and was up dancing the whole time we were there.
‘I just wanted to make it really special for her this year because she will never have another birthday like this.’
Meanwhile Bethany Kelleher, from Moorgreen Road, in West Leigh, also turned 11 today.
She is enjoying an in-service day off school and planned ice skating with her family and friends to celebrate her birthday.
Young Bethany opened a host of presents from friends and family, including a new phone, boots, a scarf and hair accessories.
Mum Nicola, 43, said: ‘Bethany has been looking forward to today for years.
‘We worked it out a while ago and always thought it was really funny that she would be 11 on 11/11/11.
‘It’s a really nice way to spend a birthday and we want to make the most of it for her – not many people have the chance to celebrate a birthday like this.’
