IT WAS a tough job and served to highlight just how many amazing women are around us.
But the judges have finally put together a short list for The News’ first Woman of the Year Awards.
There are 13 categories in which scores of women from across the area were nominated.
From fantastic mums to incredible businesswomen, there are women working day in day out.
One of those who has made the shortlist is Sally Spicer, 32, from North End.
The mum-of-two has been nominated for businesswoman of the year for the drive and energy she has shown in her role as a recruitment manager at Barclay Meade’s Whiteley office.
Sally said: ‘I’m passionate about women being recognised in business and have spent the last 10 years developing my career in Hampshire.
‘I’m truly honoured to be nominated and short-listed for The Business Women of the Year award.’
Sally heads up a team of four people at the and she was nominated by her boss Anton Roe who said she is ‘inspirational, professional, enterprising, innovative and passionate in everything she does.’
She is just one example of the 60 women who have made the shortlist out of hundreds. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on a date to be confirmed.
