EXOTIC orchids will go on display at a society’s annual show.

The Wessex Orchid Society is holding its Spring Show at Portchester Community School in White Hart Lane on Saturday, March 5, from midday until 4.30pm.

Mayor of Fareham Cllr Mike Ford will award trophies for the best plants and, in addition to the main society display, there will be tables of orchids in different classes for the annual competition.

Show secretary Tony Nappin said: ‘This is a wonderful opportunity to see and learn more about these beautiful and exotic plants.’

Three orchid nurseries will be displaying flowers with some available to buy.

Orchid accessories such as special composts and fertilisers will also be available.

There will be a re-potting demo and question time at 12.30pm, and there will be a problem table manned throughout the show to bring sick orchids to.
