SHOPPERS were serenaded by singers from the Spinnaker Chorus – all for charity.
The award-winning chorus, based in Horndean, performed a mixture of carols and their own repertoire at Asda in Bedhampton on Monday and Wednesday.
They sang in aid of the Mayor of Havant Ken Smith’s chosen charities, which are the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Dorothy’s Dream – an appeal by the Rowans Hospice.
They raised the cash for the mayor’s charities as Cllr Smith’s wife Hazel is a member of the Spinnaker group.
Singer Barbara Corstorphin was pleased with how the events went.
She said: ‘We sang in the evening so it was relatively quiet but we still managed to raise a good amount in spite of the austere climate at the moment.
‘People are so kind.’
