THE inside of Gosport’s submarine museum was filled with the sound of music at a concert.

Members of the Portsmouth Cathedral Choir performed traditional carols in the submarine-shaped John Fieldhouse Building at Royal Navy Submarine Museum.

All cash raised has gone toward refurbishing Second World War-era HMS Alliance, which is on display at the museum, in Haslar Road, Gosport.

Bill Sainsbury, events manager at the museum, said: ‘We have a fantastic venue here at the submarine museum which has wonderful acoustics for choral music.

‘We are hoping that this carol service may become a regular event.’
