LIBRARIES aren’t the sort of venue usually associated with guitar gods.

But guitar tutor Basil Lodge has been teaching beginners’ classes at Waterlooville, and this week has started them at Fareham Library for the first time.

Mr Lodge said: ‘It’s new to Fareham, but Hampshire libraries are putting on lots of different courses.

‘Most of the libraries now have a learning suite set aside for this like this, so it doesn’t impede on the quiet side of the library.

‘I’ve had plenty of positive feedback.’

The six-week course is now under way, but for information about upcoming courses in the county’s libraries go to hants.gov.uk/library.htm
