A TEAM of former Pompey players will be pitted against soap actors in a charity football match.

Pompey legend Alan Knight will play alongside Touchline Tony, Andy Awford and Lee Bradbury among others.

Royal Family star Ralf Little, Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, and Hollyoaks’ Nico Mirallegro will be among those playing in the opposition team.

Mike Briscoe decided to arrange the match after one of his friends was diagnosed with cancer.

The 24-year-old from Cosham said: ‘I’ve always wanted to do a celebrity football match as its something fun and a bit different as they don’t happen very often, especially down here. It should be a good day out.

‘Hopefully it will be a good atmosphere and it’s meant to be sunny on the day so hopefully more people will turn out to watch it.

‘It’s good that people are giving up their time to come down.’

All money raised will go to Children with Cancer UK and Once Upon A Smile.

It takes place at Havant and Waterlooville’s football ground on Sunday at 1.30pm.

Tickets are £5 for adults or £3 for under 16s.

All players are subject to work and filming schedules.
