THOUSANDS of women have pounded the streets of Southsea in this year’s Race for Life
Around 7,000 ladies of all ages from across the area took part in this year’s event in blazing sunshine, many running in memory of a loved one who has battled with cancer.
A sea of pink descended upon Southsea as the first group of ladies took on the 10k race this morning.
A second group, many in fancy dress, took part in the 5k route just over two hours later.
Organisers say they believe around £500,000 has been raised today for Cancer Research UK.
