Seven mums who are not used to dancing are being sponsored to perform a routine to raise money so three children can represent their country at the World Dance Championships.

Vinnie Joe Gofton, 14, Chantel Marie Turner, 17, and Dylan Sait, seven, from Southzone Dance Academy in Waterlooville have qualified to represent England at the event in Italy in October but need to raise funds for the trip.

The mums, who range from 20 to 60 years of age, will perform at the Mountbatten Centre on Sunday.

Leslie Gofton’s son Vinnie hopes to dance in the
championships in Italy.

She said: ‘These children have worked amazingly hard to get to this stage and deserve everything due to their dedication of dance.

‘We have been kindly sponsored by Acadia Timber, The Merch Hut, Vinnie’s uncle Bob, and a dear friend.

‘We hope that these children enjoy this experience and learn plenty from this.

‘We would like to wish them all the best.’
