Seven sponsored rafts set off for the annual Ship Inn raft race.

A motley collection of rafts and crews in a variety of costumes took part in the event to raise money for the Hayling RNLI.

All but one of the crews made it to the finish.

Daniel Bowden, general manager of the Ship Inn organised the event last Saturday and entered two teams.

The boys were in a raft called Uncle John, while the girls team were in The Five Oars.

Last year’s winners Hayling Legends were strong contenders and once again won the race.

The Black Sheep Divers came second, with a close battle for third between the RNLI and HS Aviation won by the RNLI.

HMS Last Resort finished fifth but was awarded the prize for the best overall raft.
