SOME of the neediest children in Britain will benefit from a charity event at Havant College.

Students are organising a sports awards evening.

The speaker for the night will be Aaron Phipps, from Southampton, who competed in the 2012 Paralympics in wheelchair rugby.

Students who have excelled in sport will be given awards.

All proceeds will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

A team of young people studying A-level leisure studies – Danielle Farrell, Daisy Foster-Dunn, Luke Jackson, Luis Lozano, Jessica Garside and Hollie Charles – are organising the event on Wednesday March 27 at 6pm in the college’s studio theatre.

Tickets are on sale for £2.50 including refreshments and are available from the finance office.
