AN explosion of bold colours greeted people who went hunting for art over the weekend.
Artists across Emsworth opened their studios to the general public for the annual arts trail.
One of them was Carol Price, 67, a painter, of Park Crescent, who taught art at the former St Luke’s School in Southsea, said: ‘I try to have a different theme every year so when people walk down the drive they think “I wonder what she’s done this year?”.
‘This year’s it’s all based on winter landscapes.’
She added: ‘We started organising it ourselves three years ago. We have now built up to 50 venues with 150 artists involved.
‘People are just so excited about it. Different businesses have adopted an artist, so The Blue Bell Inn has adopted me.
‘It brings the trail into the heart of the village.
‘It’s fantastic because you spend all year working away in your studio and suddenly the public can come and see what you have been doing.’
The arts trail continues on Hayling on May 10 and 11 and in Havant and Waterlooville on May 17 and 18.
