THE SAS has launched an appeal for new members.

But there will be less risk to life and limb as part of this SAS – the Stubbington Ark Supporters.

The Ark animal shelter, in Ranvilles Lane, is launching its new giving scheme and is looking for members.

Vanessa Eden, head of fundraising for RSPCA Solent branch, said: ‘We have launched SAS which is a committed giving scheme to help us plan for the years ahead.

‘An unprecedented number of animals are being brought into the shelter for rehoming.

‘Owners are finding it impossible to provide food and veterinary treatment for their pets and have had to make the painful choice of having to give them up.

‘A regular gift of £5, £10 or more by standing order will enable the charity to be secure in the knowledge that the vital funds needed for 21st century animal welfare will be available.’

Full details of the SAS scheme can be found online at stubbingtonark.org.uk or by contacting Vanessa on (01329) 666916 or 07880 926751
