THERE are loads of events and activities in store this week to make sure your family is having a Summer of Fun.
Primary-school-aged children can learn more about birds at a Feathered Friends activity day tomorrow. There will be sessions from 11am to midday and 2pm to 3pm where children will be able to make a bird mobile.
The activity day will be at Cumberland House Natural History Museum in Southsea and is free, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Call (023) 9281 5276 to book.
Also tomorrow, youngsters aged five to 10 can get involved in an art session at the Hillside and Wymering Centre in Paulsgrove.
The session costs £1 per child and will run from 1pm to 3pm. Call (023) 9288 2550 to book.
If your children love animals you need venture no further than the Boardwalk at Port Solent Marina.
Tomorrow, a Kidsrome mobile farm will be at the marina giving youngsters the chance to get up close to goats, guinea pigs and other animals.
If your family is looking for something with a little more bang, a visit to Fort Nelson on Portsdown Hill is not to be missed.
The fort has Artillery in Action displays every day in August from 10am to 5pm, including cannon firings at 11am.
Other weaponry on display includes a trebuchet and a wrought iron breech-loading gun.
The fort also has a junior assault course where youngsters aged three and over can play all day for £3.50. There are also guided tours of the fort daily at 11.15am and 1.30pm.
Tours cost £3 and under 16s go free.
