THE sun shone brightly as the people of Leigh Park got together to enjoy a celebration to bring the community together.
The Leigh Park Festival took place on Saturday on Stockheath Common.
There was a carnival procession that lots of young children took part in.
And there was a petting zoo, a funfair, a dog show, a Punch and Judy show and a performance from local children’s dance troupe Bright Stars.
Organiser Helen Dunning from Leigh Park Traders’ Association, said: ‘It’s been absolutely fantastic.
‘It was a beautiful day with the weather. Lots of people turned up.
‘I’m a local trader so I think at least once a year I should be doing something for the community that supports me.
‘It’s giving back to the community.’
