WAITROSE has given a harmony chorus a big boost.

Customers at the Havant branch of the store donated £500 worth of green tokens to The Pitchpipers Harmony Chorus, based in Cosham, which will go towards putting on events in the community.

Marilyn Penketh, the musical director, said: ‘This is a fantastically generous response from Waitrose customers and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

‘We’re always ready and willing to bring harmony to a wider audience and this sum of money will allow us to continue doing just that.

‘There is nothing better than seeing the joy which music brings.’
