Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage has welcomed news that the Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba) will be providing support to the Heritage Open Days in September.

Gosport was one of two towns selected by the Riba to receive support, so specialist historians will lead tours and provide architectural background during the open days, which will run from September 10-13.

The talks and tours are set to provide a real insight into our heritage and it is a great opportunity for young people to learn more about the area in which they live.

The Riba’s public engagement programme, Love Architecture, is partnering nationally with Heritage Open Days for the first time this year.

Ms Dinenage said: ‘The Gosport peninsula has an incredibly rich history, so I am really pleased to hear that the Riba has decided to support the 21st year of Heritage Open Days here in our area.

‘The talks and tours are set to provide a real insight into our heritage and it is a great opportunity for young people to learn more about the area in which they live.’
