A DOG walk which started 40 years ago and has raised £62,894 is to take place again this weekend.

The fundraiser will be held with the support of Bosmere Junior School in South Street, Havant.

Pupils from the school started the money-spinner in 1972 and this year will be special as it is the 40th anniversary.

The money helps the Havant and Hayling Island Guide Dog branch, part of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

The sponsored walk takes place on Sunday starting at Bound Lane car park, South Hayling beach, and is a four-mile route.

People can register on the day from 9.45am, with the walk starting at 10.30am.

The money goes towards guide dog puppies which
in the recent years have included puppies Spike, Irene and Tim.
