SHOPPERS in Port Solent will be given a taste of something a little bit different next weekend.

It is hosting an open kitchen event, in conjunction with the Portsmouth Food Festival, and allowing the public into restaurant kitchens to see how meals are prepared.

Community chef Robin Van Creveld will be making dishes from local products over the two days, and he’ll be joined in a pop-up kitchen by Scott Matthews from Relentless and cooks from curry house Rimjhims.

Some restaurants will be letting the public make their own meals, and a food market will be running throughout.
