A FATHER is organising a charity golf tournament in memory of his son, who died of a brain tumor.

Alan Jones, of Denmead, is organising the event to benefit the Countess Mountbatten Hospice in Hedge End.

Mr Jones said he wanted to help the hospice because its staff had done a wonderful job caring for his son, Gary ‘Jake’ Jones, who died of a brain tumour two years ago aged 47.

The tournament will take place on Friday, September 12, from 8.30am at the Southwick Park Golf Club.

Mr Jones said the tournament would cost £45, which would include breakfast, a two-course meal and entertainment. ‘It’s an excellent hospice and I want to do everything I can to help,’ he said.
