RESIDENTS are being asked to tell the council how they think a conservation area should be protected.

Fareham Borough Council is looking for comments on the Portchester Castle Street conservation area to identify the features that contribute to the architectural and historic character. Cllr Keith Evans, member for environment, said: ‘We would like as many people as possible to get involved in helping to conserve the character of this historic part of the borough by commenting.

‘Letters have been sent to properties and landowners within the conservation area and site notices are also in place.’

The display will be in Portchester Library until Monday, November 18. It will also be in Portchester Community Centre from Monday, November 4 until Monday, November 18.

Details of the consultation can be found online at fareham.gov.uk/consultation.
