Swanmore cage fighter Tom Watson has hit the biggest pay day of his career.

On Saturday he picked up a $100,000 bonus at Wembley Arena which equals £64,000.

The mixed martial artist won his fight in style at the UFC on Fuel TV event getting both the fight of the night and Knock out of the night over opponent Stanislav Nedkov of Bulgaria.

Watson was featured in The News when he fought Katie Price’s ex Alex Reid in 2010 and won, and since then has fought on a number of different shows before being snapped up by the Ultimate Fighting Championship last year which has millions of fans worldwide.

Watson said: ‘I was on live on Facebook and as a result of that I lost three sponsors, so the fight of the night and knockout of the night bonuses are important and I spend all of my money training.

‘If I stopped tomorrow, I’d go into a nine-to-five job like anyone else.

‘These bonuses really help me train and pay my coaches to keep me improving.’

Portsmouth fighter Phil Harris also featured at the event, getting a unanimous decision win.
