GREEN-fingered folk in Havant had to wait two years for their horticultural show after a summer washout last year.

But, boy, was it worth the wait!

The annual show of the Havant and District Horticultural Society was a huge success, with St Nicholas Church Centre in Bedhampton transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour.

The News’ gardening correspondent Brian Kidd handed out the trophies to the winners, who competed across more than 20 classes, including dahlias, roses, flower arranging, vegetables, and handicrafts.

Geoff Tanton, who managed his last show, was presented with a £25 gardening voucher for all his tireless work over the years.

The trophy winners were: Peter Rogers, Mike Potts, Ruth Moore, Roy Harding, Ann Buckley, Liam Hutchings, Matthew Costall and Oliver Westron.
