AUDIENCES are being asked to show their support by voting for a theatre in the running for a prestigious award.

The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre in Havant has been nominated for My Theatre Matters! in the Most Welcoming Theatre category.

The East Street venue is up against the likes of the Chichester Festival Theatre.

Spring director Sophie Fullerlove said: ‘We pride ourselves on providing a great experience for all our visitors. I’m delighted that we have been recognised with this award nomination.

‘We’re up against some wonderful theatres that we enjoy working in partnership with but, by being smaller and connected with our audiences, we hope we might be able to pip them to the post.’

Havant MP Alan Mak said: ‘The Spring is a brilliant local theatre recognised nationally for the quality of its programme and the warmth of its welcome. I urge everyone to vote for The Spring, and give them the support they deserve.’
