Steve Webb took children Olivia, 11, and Lilly, nine, to enjoy the free evening, organised by Havant Borough Council.

Olivia said: ‘The fireworks were amazing.

‘I like the ones that go up and go bang and fizzle.’

Mr Webb added: ‘We have been coming here for the last four years. They have some really good fireworks and they go on for quite a while.’

Karen Holley, from The Warren, Leigh Park, brought along Declan Welch, 11, and Joshua Bell, 18, for the fun.

She said: ‘It was amazing. Fantastic.

‘The finale was the best.

‘It’s amazing and it’s good it has got a police presence as well.

‘It always exceeds expectations.’

Declan said: ‘The loud bangs made you enjoy it more. It was better than last year.’
