LADIES from the Fareham Macular Support Group were delighted when the Mayor stopped by for a chat and a cup of tea.
The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Susan Bayford, had a cuppa and a slice of cake at the group’s monthly meeting.
The members suffer from macular degeneration which results in the loss of central vision. This is the most common form of sight impairment in the UK and can afflict people of all ages, although it is predominantly age-related and at 90 years old, more than one in five will experience it
The self-help group meets from 1pm until 3pm on the second Monday of each month at Fareham United Reformed Church, Osborn Road South, and provides support and advice to fellow sufferers.
