ARTISTS swapped paintbrushes for cups of mulled wine.

Thirty artists celebrated the garden they have created at Art Space Portsmouth, in Brougham Road, Somers Town.

Adrian Mundy started work on the garden four years ago when he first joined the studios.

He said: ‘We were clearing up one day for an open studio event and there is an area to the side which was just tarmaced over and I thought it would be nice to have a garden there.

‘We managed to get a grant of £500 for some wood and soil to create raised beds.

‘Over time, we’ve been able to get a bit more money and the garden now looks really good.

‘Each winter we like to get together out there and sip mulled wine but this year it rained so we went inside!’
