WITH the return of the Southsea Show comes the return of some traditional competitions.

Organisers have planned many competitions to appear in this year’s show which is next weekend on Southsea Common.

The show aims to keep the children entertained during their summer holidays giving them something new to do.

The competitions include miniature garden which gets kids creating a tiny garden in a shoe box or other container using flowers, recycled materials and found objects.

The scarecrow contest is encouraging them to make their own scarecrow from old clothes or other recycled materials.

Finally, the edible face on a plate will get the children making a face out of fruit, vegetables and other good things to eat on a paper plate.

There are three age groups of under eights, under-11s and everyone else.

Entries should be bought to the Bloomin’ Marvellous tent to be judged at 5pm.

Each contest costs 50p to enter.
