SCORES of people vied to win a town’s treasure hunt.

But it was the 1st Emsworth Scouts who clinched the top prize after unravelling the clues about the town’s history.

The treasure hunt was organised by Dorothy Bone from Emsworth Museum.

She said: ‘If you live in Emsworth it’s a nice night out and a chance to meet new people.’

The two scouts to complete the hunt fastest with all correct answers were Philip Jarcyk, 16, and Luke Tibbet, 15. They won a hamper.

Scout leader Richard Jarcyk said: ‘It was a lovely way to spend a summer’s evening and see the village.

‘I think we’ve all learned lots about Emsworth’s history.’

The 1st Emsworth Guides also took part in Wednesday’s event and the questions were set by last year’s winners Sally Church and Liz Horsell.
