STAFF at a new supermarket have put on a trolley good show to help raise more than £500 for charity.

Store manager Simon Beale and his promotional team at Tesco on Quay Street in Fareham handed out more than 500 trolley tokens to customers in exchange for a donation to the Tesco charity of the year, Cancer Research UK.

Mr Beale said: ‘It was the least we could do. Our customers have been very loyal since we opened last November and we have pledged to work closely with the local community.

‘Shoppers have been patient with all the Quay Street roundabout road works which have been going on in the area but now we have a fabulous new store to serve them and the feedback we are getting has been really positive.’

They are planning to distribute more trolley tokens for the charity in coming months.

Tesco is aiming to raise £10m nationwide this year to help Cancer Research UK’s work.
