THEY rolled back the years and had a jolly good time at a 1940s party.

Staff at Bedhampton Nursing Home, in Hulbert Road, pulled out all the stops to make sure it was a memorable day for the residents.

The home was stacked with memorabilia, including old televisions, telegrams and postcards.

Tony Smith, from Angel Radio, came in to give a talk and there was entertainment from 1940s singers.

Denise Sapio, the home’s cook, who dressed up as a land girl, said: ‘It went very well – everybody is still talking about it now! When we dressed up as the land girls, they were telling us their stories. It brought back memories.’
