FOR weeks flamboyant rock singer Eddy String has been entertaining millions of television viewers on The X Factor.

And yesterday the 18-year-old was spotted getting on a train from Portsmouth and Southsea railway station with friends James Mockler, 18, and Danni Smith, 18.

The trio had spent the day at the shops in Gunwharf Quays.

Eddy, who failed to get through to the next stage of The X Factor competition on Sunday night after failing to impress judges with a rendition of Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns’n’Roses, was on his way back to his hometown Worthing.

He said: ‘I’ve been to Portsmouth a bunch of times. I see it as the gateway to the Isle of Wight as I’ve been through it to get to the Isle of Wight festival.’
