FOUL smells and ghastly food will be the subject of a submarine-themed exhibition.

Two new shows will be held at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, in Gosport, next year.

The Horrible Science of Submarines exhibition will look at the smelly conditions in submarines and comes from the author of the popular children’s Horrible Science books, Nick Arnold.

There is also the Falklands 30 War Patrols exhibition which looks at the 30th anniversary of the Falklands conflict.

It will feature recollections from several submariners who served on submarines sent to the South Atlantic to support the Royal Navy Task Force in 1982.

Both of these exhibitions will be open at the end of March, when HMS Alliance temporarily closes for a major conservation programme.
